- Greetings
You are invited to become a member of the Kansong Patrons.

Patron Chairman Eric Sung
The Kansong Patrons were established to honor the spirit and advance the mission of Chun Hyungpil (pen name Kansong), who sought to sustain the pride of the Korean nation by collecting and preserving invaluable cultural artifacts and making the world aware of its tremendous cultural legacy during the dark days of Japan’s colonial occupation of Korea.
The Kansong Patrons seek to help the foundation grow into one of Korea’s representative signature art and culture foundations through proactive support of various cultural initiatives, including educational programs, art exhibitions and the maintenance, preservation and study of the Kansong Collection. The Kansong Patrons also seek to take the lead in creating the social conditions for galvanizing support for Korean culture. In our modern world, this is a highly meaningful way of implementing Kansong’s vision of preserving the Korean nation through culture, a vision he pursued his entire life.
In 1971, Bohwagak was renamed the Kansong Art Museum and opened up to the public. For nearly four decades thereafter, the museum held, without exception, two public exhibitions in May and October of each year based on the work of our researchers. Our continuing efforts over the decades earned the interest and support of the public. But the current Kansong Art Museum in the Seongbuk-dong neighborhood of Seoul is not large enough to support a large number of visitors.
We invite you to join the Kansong Patrons because we would like you to be part of this important mission. Our hope is that you will dedicate your priceless passion to preserving Korean culture and sharing it with more people around the world to ensure that Korea’s distinguished cultural legacy will be passed down to future generations. We also ask for your continuing interest and generous support for the Kansong Art and Culture Foundation, which strives to be a reliable partner for research into Korean culture.
